2017 would have marked the 20th Anniversary of ChefGail Hall's Culinary Tours. Since 1997, thirty tours have been organized locally, nationally and internationally. Over 600 people participated in these unique culinary and travel experiences and participant retention rate remains at 50% to 75% - which means some participants have taken more than one culinary tour with Gail! Many life-long friends have been made, while exploring the world through the eyes of food, hospitality, culture and travel.
The plans for culinary travel in 2017 included:
We'll celebrate New York exploring the highlights of the previous 4 tours to the Big Apple, and include a Broadway show, of course!
We'll stop at farms and producers en route, visit a brewery or two, eat at fabulous restaurants, take a cooking class and have some time to relax and shop with the mountains as our backdrop.
We'll return to the location of Gail's very first tour for exceptional southwest cuisine, great wine, visits to farms, markets and producers and a stop at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
Unfortunately, the tours will not go ahead because of the passing of ChefGail Hall on November 16, 2016. Gail was optimistic that she would recover from the complications of her cancer treatment and would be able to continue to tour but the universe had other plans for her life. Gail's last tour was to Nova Scotia in September 2016 and she was a trooper right to the end.
